Remember that massive apartment tower planned for 1 Mystic Ave? Well, it’s downsizing again. Fulcrum Global Investors, the Newton developer behind the project, has gone back to the Boston Planning Department asking for what they’re calling a “minor modification.”
The project, initially approved in 2023 by the City of Boston for a 22-story, 503-unit apartment building near Sullivan Square, is now being reduced in height to 18 floors and 423 units. More than half of these units will be sold as condos, rather than rented as apartments.
Also gone? All 111 of the garage parking spots. Fulcrum says they’ll replace them with space for five shared electric cars for residents. The developer says changing market conditions are forcing them to rethink the project.
You can see the full project details here.
