Vote on the locations for more BlueBikes
Last month, the City of Boston announced it would be installing more BlueBike stations in various neighborhoods around the city. The city found 13 potential locations for 5-7 new Bluebikes stations in Charlestown. You can take the survey about these potential locations, and/or you can attend the workshop about it this Tuesday, October 22nd, at 6pm at the BCYF Charlestown. Learn more and vote here!
Women’s Self-Defense Class at YMCA Charlestown
Saturday, October 26th at 3pm | Sign up for a women’s self-defense class at the YMCA hosted by professional MMA fighter, Judo/Karate Black Belt, and JiuJitsu Brown belt Fernanda Paraujo! This class will teach you how to identify threats, defend yourself, and make it home safely. $30 for YMCA members, $35 non-members. Venmo @fernandaparaujo to save your spot!
Boys & Girls Club 20th Annual Patriots Gameday Tailgate Fundraiser
It’s time to register for this year’s New England Patriot’s Gameday Tailgate Fundraiser to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Charlestown! The tailgate will take place on Sunday, November 17th from 12-5pm at RSM, 80 City Square, Charlestown.
Your ticket price includes an open bar with beer, wine, and a Bloody Mary Bar. Catering will also be provided by Michael and Kari Cooney of Brewer’s Fork and Dovetail.

Massport to Host Emergency Exercise at Logan Airport on October 22nd to October 23rd
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), alongside several mutual aid partners, will hold an emergency response exercise overnight from Tuesday, October 22 to Wednesday, October 23 at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). It will take place from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. For the surrounding communities, please be aware that there will be emergency vehicles from various agencies in the vicinity and on the airfield. For those in the airport, there will be emergency personnel and loud noises in Terminal C. This exercise, like all the ones that Massport conducts, is designed to allow first responders to realistically respond to an emergency. A number of mutual aid partners will be taking part in the exercise alongside Massport Fire Rescue, including the Boston Fire Department, Boston EMS, and the Massachusetts State Police. Portions of Terminal C will be closed for this exercise.
