Halloween in Charlestown is a BIG deal, so here’s our lineup of events and all the details you need to make the most of this special season!

October 18th | Fall-o-Ween Children’s Festival at Boston Common

Friday, October 18th from 5-8pm | Take a trip downtown for this amazing festival! Mayor Michelle Wu and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will host the fourth annual Fall-o-Ween Children’s Festival on the Boston Common Parade Ground at the corner of Beacon and Charles Streets on Friday, October 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A “monster mash” of activities will include music, arts and crafts, treats, rides on the trackless train, field games facilitated by Knucklebones, and sensory play with Play Boston. LEGO® Discovery Center Boston will be in attendance with fun Halloween LEGO builds as well as LEGO Halloween build activities with a Master Model Builder. Read more about it here!

October 19th | Charlestown YMCA Pumpkin Splash

Saturday, October 19th from 12-3pm | Visit the front desk to register for Charlestown YMCA‘s Pumpkin Splash happening this Saturday. From 12-1pm, the community can enjoy an open house with tumbling, kid bootcamp, basketball and a photo wall. Then from 1-3pm, registered members will receive their own sugar pumpkin to throw in the pool for a free swim. After the swim, arts and crafts will be provided to decorate your pumpkin.

October 19th and 24th | Oktoberfest at Blackmoor

Saturday, October 19th and Thursday, October 24th | Head to Blackmoor Bar & Kitchen for one of their upcoming Oktoberfest celebrations! Enjoy live music, traditional German food, tons of beer options, and more. Sneak peak of their food offerings can be found here!

October 25th | Nightmare in the Navy Yard at The Anchor

Friday, October 25th at 6-11pm | Boston Ravers and The Anchor present… Nightmare in the Navy Yard! Indulge in a spooky waterfront experience at The Anchor. Guarantee yourself a seat amongst the city’s largest urban pumpkin patch featuring over 450 traditional and specialty pumpkins. On top of that – experience The Anchor’s various festive themes including The Anchor’s State Fair, Haunted Mezzanine, Grave’l Yard, Apple Orchard and Spooky Swamp. Featuring:

  • Headliner: Deaf Pillow
  • Scary Movie Lounge
  • Prizes for best costumes
  • Halloween dessert bar
  • Festive food and drink specials

October 26th | Monster Mash at Monument

Saturday, October 26th from 8pm-Midnight | It’s not a trick – Monument’s first ever Halloween party is happening!! Prize for best dressed!

October 27th | Howl-o-Ween CharlestownDogs

Sunday, October 27th from 10am-12pm | Join CharlestownDogs at the Training Field for their annual Howl-o-Ween event! Costume categories include Single (dog only), Duo (dog and human), and Group (dog and 2+ humans). Check out the schedule:

  • 10-10:30am Registration
  • 10:30-11:30am Parade and Judging
  • 11:30am Winners Announced
  • 11:30-12pm Mingle

October 27th | Halloween in the Gardens

Sunday, October 27th from 10:30am-1pm | Get ready for Gardens for Charlestown’s Halloween in the Gardens! Head to the gardens for some spooky fun: arts & crafts, face painting, balloon twisters, pony rides (10:30-12:30), and games with Knucklebones. Costumes are encouraged for guests of all ages! Admission is $10 per child. General tickets will be available to purchase at the Gardens the day of the event.

New this year, you can purchase a bundle ticket in advance. This ticket is $20 and includes admission for one child, a pony ride, face painting, a hot dog, and a beverage. More info and tickets sold here!

October – November | Wicked Haunt Fest at Hood Park
