An Improved Playground!

Ryan Playground has long been a Charlestown favorite, offering Little League and softball diamonds, batting cages, a roller hockey rink, a children’s play area, and a stunning waterfront promenade along the Mystic River.

Exciting news: renovations are about to begin! Join us for the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, December 17th, at 1:30 p.m. at the playground. Let’s celebrate the start of a brighter future for this cherished community space!

Boston Bruins’ Festival of the Trees is LIVE!

Bid for your chance to take home uniquely decorated mini trees that include items such as autographed memorabilia, gift certificates, and some of the Bruins players’ favorite items that were decorated by select Bruins players’ wives, girlfriends and families! Register for 2025 BCYF Charlestown Groups

Registration is now open for different community groups that will begin meeting in January at the Charlestown Community Center. Two of those groups are for children and run through mid-March: A Children’s Indoor Playgroup every Saturday for kids 2-6 years old, and an Arts & Crafts Program for kids 8-12 years old that meets every Wednesday, tutoring programs, workshops for older kids, and more. Monument Square Study Committee

Big news for Charlestown! The Monument Square Study Committee has been officially established to address the future of one of our neighborhood’s most iconic and historic areas. With the Bunker Hill Monument at its center, Monument Square is not just a landmark—it’s the heart of Charlestown.  On December 11th, the Boston City Council voted to establish a study committee.
