Nominate your favorite Legacy Business

Mayor Michelle Wu today announced the launch of the nomination period for the fifth annual Legacy Business Awards. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, October 30, 2026. Residents are encouraged to nominate long-standing businesses that have been located within the city of Boston for at least 10 years and contribute to the cultural, historical, and societal fabric of their community or neighborhood.  You can learn more here.

MBTA Bus Stop and Bus Lane Automated Camera Enforcement Program Begins October 1

Heads up, Charlestown! If you’ve been chancing it parking in bus lanes and bus stops, your days are numbered. The MBTA has announced that a brand-new automated ticketing system will officially roll out on October 1st. So consider yourself warned. Here’s how it works: cameras will scan for cars parked in bus lanes and bus stops, snap a photo, and send a ticket straight to your mailbox. Fines will start at $25 and can climb all the way up to $125 for repeat offenders. You can get all the details here.

Sunnyside After Dark

Break out the flannel, butterfly clips, and maybe even your old Discman — Sunnyside After Dark is going back to 1996! Starting Friday, September 25, Sunnyside Café in Charlestown is launching Sunnyside After Dark: Class of ’96, a weekly Friday night throwback packed with ’90s nostalgia. Expect ’90s-inspired food, throwback cocktails, movies, music, and pop culture, plus the chance to recreate your Class of ’96 yearbook photo. And yes, dressing like it’s 1996 is highly encouraged. Sunnyside After Dark happens every Friday night from 4pm-9pm. Reservations can be made through OpenTable.
