According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), four incoming flights to Boston Logan International Airport have been targeted by green lasers in the past two days. The FAA said the flight crew of Alaska Airlines 536 from Seattle flight reported being targeted by a green laser around 5:10 a.m. Tuesday. And on Monday, Alaska Airlines flight 536 in addition to a JetBlue flight 988 and Delta Air Lines flight 803, reported a green laser near around 5:40 a.m.
WCVB reports that back in September, several other commercial flights landing at Logan were targeted by lasers. A Coast Guard helicopter landing at Mass General Hospital was also hit by a laser.
Good grief. Do we think we have a resident from the neighborhood who enjoys using a laser before the crack of dawn? Individuals can be fined up to $11,000 per violation for pointing lasers at aircraft. You can get more details here.
