One of Charlestown’s most beloved stores, Mockingbird Baby & Kids, has been listed for sale. The commercial space, business, and inventory are listed at $899,000.
Since it’s opening in June 2014, the beyond adorable kids boutique on Main Street has brought the neighborhood so much joy. It has also been an important part of the community, giving parents the opportunity to Shop Small for brand names, locally curated products, unique seasonal items, and more. As a company, they are proud to be a place where conscious consumers can help raise conscious kids.
Mockingbird also changed hands back in March 2019. Did you know it is currently owned by a Charlestown mom, Lauren Thompson? Mockingbird was Lauren’s go to for her girls, Evelyn and Amelia. She has continued to evolve the store by curating products with an emphasis on earth conscious and made in the USA products, women founded businesses, minority founded businesses, and businesses that prioritize giving back.
Mockingbird is also an active supporter of multiple non-profits working to make the world a kinder, more inclusive place for all. They are proud to support our local schools who do amazing work raising the next generation.

Furthering their commitment to the next generation, they strive to be as environmentally conscious as possible from the brands carried, to the way orders are packaged, and how they recycle in store. The boxes, bags, tissue and ribbon they use are all recyclable! You may also see reused packaging for your shipments as they aim to increase the lifecycle of cardboard boxes.
Check out their official Instagram announcement with more details on the decision to sell:
After much thought and consideration, I have decided to sell Mockingbird. The decision did not come easy, and not one I take lightly, but I have felt pulled to try something new and am excited to share that I am going back to school for social work. It has been an honor to be a part of the Charlestown small business community for the past five and a half years. There have been lots of emotions as I came to this decision, especially as I think about the friendships I have made, the support we received through COVID and the people the shop allowed me to connect with over the years. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
The business, inventory and commercial condo are all included in the sale! For more information on the sale, please contact Jillian Reig and Steve Losordo at 617-960-6080 or [email protected]. The shop will remain open until I find the right buyer for 219 Main Street ♥️
