This Weekend’s Bunker Hill Festivities
It’s finally here! There are festivities to enjoy all weekend, along with the beloved Bunker Hill Day Parade happening on Sunday at 12:30pm. - 4th annual Bunker Hill Bar Crawl 5-10pm, a go at your own pace crawl encouraging residents to support local bars and restaurants. Each establishment will feature a Patriotic/Charlestown themed drink! If you make it to at least 6 locations, you will be entered into a grand raffle for a $50 gift card to EVERY participating restaurant and bar!! Stamp cards are available, and can be turned in, at each location. Koozies are also going to be given out, and Charlestown’s Hood Park is providing free shuttle services around town! - Battle of Bunker Hill 5k Road Race 10:30am at the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club
- Bunker Hill Day Parade starts at 12:30pm at the corner of Bunker Hill Street and Chelsea Street
- Read all about the parade here!
- Streets along the route will be closed to traffic through approximately 5 p.m. Enforcement of the parking restriction will begin as early as 7 a.m.
- Venmo bunker-hill-parade to donate to the parade funds!
Monday, June 17th
- Ecumenical Service 1:30-3pm at Saint Francis De Sales Parish, followed by a procession from the church to the Monument – Sponsored by American Legion J.W. Conway Bunker Hill Post 26
- The procession will stop briefly for a wreath laying at Bunker Hill Burial Ground officiated by the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company and Massachusetts Freemasons.
- The USS Constitution Color Guard, The Musick of Prescott’s Battalion, Warren-Prescott School Choir, elected officials, and dignitaries will also join the procession along with the general public.
- A trolley will leave the Bunker Hill Museum at 1 p.m. for the service for those that require transport.
- Battle of Bunker Hill Remembrance Ceremony & Oration 3:30-4:45pm at the Monument – Sponsored by Bunker Hill Monument Association, National Park Service, and American Legion J.W. Conway Bunker Hill Post 26
- Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey will provide the oration
- Speakers will include: British Consul General Peter Abbott; Segun Idowu, Chief of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion, City of Boston; Mohegan Tribal Historian Melissa Tantaquidgeon Zobel; and Christian Di Spigna, Executive Director, Dr. Joseph Warren Foundation. Park Superintendent Michael Creasey will open and close the program.
Paid parking is available for all events at the Nautica Parking Garage located at 88 Constitution Road. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the Bunker Hill Monument.
