Hop on a water taxi!

Looking for a fun activity around the neighborhoods? Check out the boat shuttle service that connects you from ReelHouse East Boston to Charlestown’s waterfront and the Seaport. Boston Launch Company runs their boat shuttle service daily from 11 am until 11 pm, making stops at Pier 6, Reel House East Boston, The Tall Ship, and ReelHouse Oyster Bar in the Seaport. The service costs $4 a ticket but is free during Sumner Tunnel closures. It is such a fun, easy, and convenient way to get around the city!  Get all the fun details here! 

Check out the new art installation: Bridge of Joy

Experience the Bridge of Joy, a public art installation bringing large, joyful sculptures to Charlestown.

Installed to connect both sides of the Tobin Bridge—long a dividing line within the neighborhood—these three bronze works by internationally renowned artists Gillie and Marc were created to surprise, delight, and symbolically deepen Charlestown’s connection to the Navy Yard, and to each other as a community.

*Reminder* Orange Line service is suspended

The MBTA will accomplish signal upgrade work on the Orange Line in August. By upgrading its signals, the MBTA will significantly increase operational efficiency and improve scheduling reliability for riders.

To accomplish this work, the following service suspension will take place:

  • Orange Line service will be suspended between Wellington and Back Bay during the weekends of August 2 – 3, August 9 – 10, and August 23 – 24.
