Compost Your Christmas Tree
Boston Public Works is collecting Christmas trees for composting from December 30th – January 10th. Just leave your tree curbside on your normal trash day by 6 a.m. Make sure there are no lights, ornaments, or other items on the tree, and do not put them in plastic bags. If you have two trash days, trees will be collected on the first day.

Battle of Bunker Hill Reenactment to Relocate to Gloucester for 250th Anniversary
In a surprising twist, Charlestown’s signature historical event—the Battle of Bunker Hill reenactment—will not take place on its home turf for its 250th anniversary. Instead, organizers have announced that the 2025 commemoration of the iconic Revolutionary War battle will be held on the Gloucester waterfront.
The decision comes largely due to logistical challenges that have long plagued Charlestown, particularly the lack of adequate parking to accommodate the crowds expected for such a milestone. Read more about it here.
