Mark your calendars, Charlestown—Paul Revere’s famous Midnight Ride turns 250 on April 18th, 2025, and the neighborhood is celebrating!

Whether you’re a die-hard history buff or looking for an excuse to hit the streets after dark, there’s something happening for you. This isn’t just a walk down memory lane—it’s a choose-your-own-adventure night out right here where it all started.

Be Part of the Action
  • Catch Paul Revere’s historic crossing as he arrives in the Navy Yard at 8:45 PM at Pier 1.
  • Line the streets as Paul Revere mounts his horse in City Square and rides down Main Street to warn the Minutemen of the British advance from 9:10 – 9:20 PM.
Immerse Yourself in History
  • Join J.L. Bell, author and historian, at 8:00 PM at the USS Constitution Museum for an enlightening talk about the context and significance of Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride.
  • Then head to City Square at 8:45 PM for CPS’s discussion with Joe Bagley, City of Boston’s Chief Archaeologist, as he unveils never-before-heard stories of Charlestown’s earliest residents. Learn about the sacrifices made by ordinary families whose homes were lost during the Battle of Bunker Hill, and hear these everyday heroes be honored for the very first time. Registration is encouraged!
Celebrate with Drinks & Cheer
  • Embark on the Charlestown Tavern Trail, beginning on April 18 at 5 PM and running late. It will continue daily through the weekend, until Monday, April 21. Stop by Blackmoor, Prima, Warren Tavern, Monument Restaurant and Tavern, and Sullivan’s Public House for specialty drinks, hearty cheer, and a toast to our shared history! You can even snag a limited-edition pint glass at each stop (one per guest, first-come, first-served).
  • Enjoy live music by the Russ Gershon Band from 7:30-8:45 PM in City Square, and witness an exciting drone show over the harbor from 8:30-8:40 PM celebrating and kicking off Boston 250.
  • End the night as the National Park Service illuminates the Bunker Hill Monument at 9:30 PM, showcasing flags similar to those flown during its 1843 grand opening.
Busy April 18? You’ll have a second chance to catch Paul Revere on April 21 during Friends of City Square Park’s Annual Paul Revere Event.
