Bridge of Joy Brings Wildlife, Wonder & Community to the Navy Yard

Charlestown is getting a little wilder—in the best way possible.
You’re officially invited to celebrate the launch of Bridge of Joy, a brand-new public art experience at the Charlestown Navy Yard on Wednesday, August 6, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This larger-than-life installation features Wildlife Wonders, a striking sculpture exhibit by internationally acclaimed artists Gillie & Marc, known for blending whimsy with powerful messages about conservation and connection.
The festivities kick off at The Anchor with a special video message from the artists, followed by a self-guided stroll along the waterfront to take in the full exhibit.
But it’s more than just art—it’s a community celebration, with something for everyone:
-
Animal face painting & airbrush tattoos for the kiddos (and kids at heart)
-
Free custom posters + typewriter poetry
-
Food trucks + ice cream
It’s free, fun, and open to the public—just how we like it.
Bonus good deed: Bring along a non-perishable item to support Harvest on Vine—collection bins will be on-site.
This playful trio of large bronze sculptures has arrived in Charlestown, inviting joy, connection, and curiosity.
