All ages are invited to build and enter their ships into the annual USS Constitution Museum’s LEGO® Ship Shape Competition. BPD Alert – Credit Card Skimming

The Boston Police Department is aware of a recent increase of Credit Card Skimming devices being used across the state of Massachusetts. Skimming happens when criminals install devices on an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) or Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals to steal card information. This often occurs at places like pharmacies, gas stations, and grocery stores. Read more about how to avoid your exposure!

Artist’s Group of Charlestown: Call to Artists

The Artists’ Group of Charlestown is pleased to announce their annual Spring 2025 Exhibition: Expressions of the Natural World. The exhibition will run March 28th to April 13th at the StoveFactory Gallery. Submissions will be accepted through March 13th.

Monument Square Landmark District petition moves forward!

Big news for history buffs and preservation advocates in Charlestown—the Monument Square Landmark District petition, submitted by the Charlestown Preservation Society, is gaining traction! Mayor Wu has officially appointed the Monument Square Study Committee, which will soon begin holding public hearings to discuss the landmark district designation for buildings directly fronting the Bunker Hill Monument. The committee will work to establish goals and design criteria that balance historic preservation with modern updates for homeowners. Read more about all of it here!

City of Boston Licensing Board approved 37 new liquor licenses, including Peruvian Taste Restaurant in Charlestown!

The City of Boston Licensing Board has approved 37 new liquor licenses for various establishments across Boston’s neighborhoods. The approved applicants—including 28 that received approval earlier today—span neighborhoods across Boston, including Charlestown, Dorchester, East Boston, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Oak Square, Roslindale, and Roxbury. In addition to today’s approvals, the Licensing Board previously approved nine applications. The Licensing Board will send applications approved today to the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) for further review. Check out the full list here!
