Water Main Break at Walker & Main — BWSC Crews Respond Swiftly

Yikes!
If you heard some unexpected commotion near Walker and Main last night, here’s what was going on: Boston Water and Sewer Commission responded to a water main break after water was seen surfacing at the intersection.
Crews quickly shut down the 8” main pipe, temporarily affecting service to 10 nearby properties. The loud noise? That’s the emergency excavation work to investigate and repair the issue.
The good news: the leak was found and fixed, water service has been fully restored, and crews are now focused on cleanup and backfilling the area.
