Update: Death Investigation at Charlestown Marina – 24-year-old woman arrested on unrelated warrants

At 10:43 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2025 officers assigned to District 15 (Charlestown) responded to Shipway Place in Charlestown to investigate an incident on a houseboat. On arrival, officers located a non-viable individual. Homicide Detectives responded and are leading the investigation into this individual’s death.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause and manner of death and positively identify the individual.
An individual, Nora Nelson, 24, of Boston, was placed under arrest at the scene on unrelated warrants and will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court.
The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.

Boston Police are investigating a death after receiving a call around 10:45 pm on Sunday.

According to NBC10 Boston, officers responded at around 10:45 p.m. Sunday to Shipway Place, a department spokesperson said. Homicide detectives were requested. BPD’s crime scene response vehicle was also on scene. Investigators could be seen with flashlights examining an area around a boat docked at the marina, as well as boarding the boat and examining it from the inside. That boat was surrounded by crime scene tape.
