Unauthorized Mural Removed from Kelly Square in Charlestown

An unauthorized mural painted at James J. Kelly Jr. Square sparked discussion in Charlestown over the weekend.
The wall-sized artwork, which featured a Palestinian flag alongside an Irish tricolor, appeared overnight near Bunker Hill Mall. Following community backlash, the mural was painted over and removed within 24 hours, per orders from the property owner.
It’s unclear who created the mural.
