She shoots, she scores! Boston is getting a new professional women’s hockey team

Earlier this week, the new Professional Women’s Hockey League officially announced a new women’s league. Along with Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, New York City, and a team in Minnesota, a new Boston team will begin play in January.
Earlier this summer Premier Hockey Federation purchased Boston Pride – all players on the team were released from their contracts. According to the Globe, home ice has yet to be announced, but a recent report from The Hockey News said Boston University’s Walter Brown Arena is being considered. You can read more about this here.
In other women’s profession sports news, Boston is expected to be named an expansion franchise of the National Women’s Soccer League in the coming months.
