BPD Update

At about 7:30 AM, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, members of the Fugitive Unit arrested, Julio Ardon, 26, of Fall River, in the area of 464 Birch Street, in Fall River. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon issued out of East Boston District Court in relation to the death of Wilfredo Landaverde Arevalo, 34, of Medford. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 6:39 AM, on Friday, December 15, 2023, officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) responded to the area of 186 Gove Street for a report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from life threatening stab wounds. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Wilfredo Landaverde Arevalo, 34, of Medford.

BPD is reporting that a man was fatally stabbed Friday morning in East Boston around 6:40am near 186 Gove Street. 

According to the Globe, the victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital by Boston EMS.
