Be a part of the City of Boston’s First-Ever Planning Academy

Have you ever wondered why your neighborhood looks and feels the way it does? If you join the Planning Academy, you will learn about Boston’s past and how you can have a voice in shaping its future.
The Planning Academy is a free interactive learning experience designed to equip residents from different backgrounds and neighborhoods with the tools, networks, and confidence to meaningfully have a voice in planning.

Why to apply and what to expect
- Eight weekly sessions will be held in Roxbury near Nubian Square every Wednesday from 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM from April 29 – June 17, 2026
- Sessions will be focused on planning and how you and your neighbors can be most effective in shaping your neighborhood
- Build relationships with your neighbors from across the city
- City staff, community leaders, and other residents will learn together about planning in our neighborhoods
- Free dinner, childcare, and T pass
