There are so many exciting programs and initiatives popping up at Charlestown’s MovementLab. The space is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the community and is seeking to serve all age groups and populations. Starting this spring, MovementLab will be launching a new offering for Charlestown’s youth! Enter: an agility, plyometrics, and conditioning class for youth ages 9 through 15 years old.

Led by local trainer Scott Hall, the group agility training class will be focused on drills and calisthenics to either prepare for upcoming sports seasons or simply improve athletic abilities. The class will run from April through June, totaling 12 sessions, and will be open to all Charlestown youth regardless of what school they attend or the sport they play.

Aimed at enhancing sports programs that are already in place at MovementLab, the class will teach proper techniques and drills for when kids are training on their own in the summertime and will be in an instructional, group format. There will also be a focus on dynamic stretch and sport-specific functional stretching to aid in injury prevention. It’s important to note this class is not specifically for athletes – it’s open to any kid looking to get in shape for mental acuity!

The class will offer youth an opportunity to see kids from other schools and those who participate in other sports programs. They will be able to train together over the summer and not only form friendships and have fun, but also develop new skills such as, the ability to change direction faster, increase acceleration, and prevent injury.

The class will start on Wednesday, April 17th with one at 3:30PM and one at 4:15PM. Your first class is free!
