What once started as a rubble-strewn lot has turned into 65 unique garden plots cared for by residents of Charlestown! The garden’s mission is to support the quality of life in our neighborhood, engage members of our community, and educate both children and adults.
This community space was established in 1978 to provide residents of Charlestown with a place to garden. Gardens for Charlestown is a thriving nonprofit organization that is maintained through the volunteer efforts and financial support of its members and the broader community.
