Big Day Boston, the fun-filled downtown birding contest, is making a comeback on May 4!
Participants will have the opportunity to spread their wings and compete against fellow bird enthusiasts to spot the most bird species within a six-hour window, starting at 10 am. This friendly competition will take them through some of Boston’s most vibrant neighborhoods, including Charlestown, Beacon Hill, Chinatown, Downtown, Leather District, North End, and West End.
Last year, the event saw a fantastic turnout of 113 participants from five states, collectively identifying an impressive 78 different bird species right in downtown Boston. Whether individuals are seasoned birders or just starting out, all are welcome to join in the fun.
Big Day Boston aims to increase awareness of the abundance and diversity of birds in Boston’s downtown, and encourages people to get to know the birds in their area. To register or learn more, visit: www.bigdayboston.com.
