New to the Neighborhood: Pixlcat Coffee

This wildly popular San Francisco coffee shop has officially opened in Charlestown!
Founded by brothers David, Dennis, and Daniel Lee, Pixlcat Coffee opened its third café—and first outside of San Francisco—at 32 Cambridge St in Charlestown.
Pixlcat has made a name for itself with its creative lattes and those famous mochi muffins — a chewy, buttery, gluten-free treat made with rice flour and served up in delicious flavors like bacon cheddar and ube white chocolate. (You might’ve already spotted them at local Boston farmers’ markets like Copley Square or Fish & Farm.)
Charlestown resident Dennis Lee will be leading the charge locally. He told What Now Boston that the new neighborhood shop will also spotlight ceremonial-grade matcha from Uji, Japan, cold-extracted for that smooth, vibrant flavor. Expect plenty of matcha-inspired drinks — think strawberry, ube, and espresso creations made with locally loved George Howell Coffee.
And if you’re a latte lover, don’t skip Pixlcat’s signature Dopo Panna Latte — their playful take on Vienna’s classic Einspänner. It’s layered with milk, topped with whipped cream, and finished with a pour of espresso — the “dopo” (Italian for “after”) giving it both its name and signature flair. Flavors range from honeycomb to mint chocolate to strawberry!
Pixlcat Charlestown is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the meantime, the team’s on the lookout for local baristas to help bring a little Bay Area magic to the neighborhood.
