The Swan Boats Return on Saturday for the 2026 Season
Mayor Michelle Wu and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department are pleased to announce that the popular Boston Swan Boats will open for the 2026 season at the Boston Public Garden lagoon on Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m.
Launched in 1877 by Irish immigrant and shipbuilder Robert Paget, the Swan Boats continue to be owned and operated by the Paget family. Mr. Paget designed the Swan Boats after attending the opera Lohengrin in New York City. At the end of the opera, the hero crosses a river in a boat drawn by a swan. Read more about it, here!
Patriots Day is Here
Patriots Day: Boston Parade and Reenactment Schedule 2026
Patriots Day, observed this year on Monday, April 20th, commemorates the opening battles of the American Revolution. Boston marks the occasion with historic ceremonies, parades, and dramatic reenactments—many centered around the famous midnight ride of Paul Revere. Paul Revere will take his famous ride from the North End out to Lexington, with a stop in Charlestown at City Square Parker around 10:35am. Read the schedule of events, here!
