The Snow Emergency and Parking Bans are over – but schools will stay closed on Tuesday

Mayor Michelle Wu today announced that the snow emergency and parking ban currently in effect will be lifted today, Monday, Jan 26th at 8:00 p.m. Residents parked in participating discounted garages must remove their cars by 10:00 p.m. to avoid being charged regular rates. More information is available at boston.gov/snow-parking. Space savers should be removed by 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 48 hours after the end of the snow emergency.

After 19 inches of snowfall in the last 24 hours with forecasts of more snow overnight and continued frigid temperatures, Boston Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27. The District has made the decision to close schools for an additional day so crews can sufficiently clear sidewalks and widen the roadways for children and the 700 bus fleet to maneuver across all streets safely. The USSC Museum will remain closed. All Kennedy Center Programs are closed.

YMCA classes and Child Watch will not occur in the morning, but resume in the afternoon. Otherwise, operating as usual.

Trash Collection is on a Monday Holiday Schedule.

City hall and libraries will reopen Tuesday.

New to the Neighborhood: Professor Pizza at Foundation Kitchen

In the ever-changing landscape of restaurants in the neighborhood, there’s a new one to try!  Professor Pizza has officially opened at Foundation Kitchen (32 Cambridge Street) in Charlestown.

This pizza is Detroit-style, grandma crust, and looks delicious! You can check out the menu here! 

You can take a Dumpling Making Class at Harvest on Vine this Thursday

This Thursday, Jan 29th from 4-6pm, head to the Boyce Community Kitchen for a dumpling making class with Harvest on Vine! They are located at 49 Vine Street.

Irene is the co-founder of Mei Mei, a food-truck-turned-restaurant-turned-dumpling company based in Boston, and of Prepshift. This workforce training consultancy supports small restaurants and their teams to thrive sustainably and Equitably. She received the 2022 James Beard Foundation Leadership Award. We are grateful and honored to have her in our kitchen.

Have you been wanting to check out Chattermark Distillers in Charlestown? Well here is your sign to do so, with two fun events happening this week! On Thursday from 7:30-9pm they are hosting Comedy Night with @fentifriedchicken & @comedycoopstandup for a night of sharp sets, great cocktails, and plenty of laughs.
