5 Things to Know This Week – November 3rd

MYSTRYDE Turkey Trot Sign Ups are LIVE on Monday!

MYSTRYDE and Brewer’s Fork are running it back for the second year in a row and teaming up for a fun Thanksgiving 5k on Sunday, November 24th! Come for the race and stay for a post run social with breakfast and drinks. 25% of all proceeds will benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Race will start at 9:00AM. Bib pick up will be at Brewer’s Fork from 8:15AM – 8:45AM. Please arrive NO LATER then 8:45AM. The race will not be chip timed, but will be clock timed with prizes for top finishers, as well as best dressed.

Following the race, stay for a family style breakfast spread and a beer courtesy of Brewer’s Fork, included in your race entry!

$65 race entry includes:

• 5k Race (Not chip timed, but we will keep track of finisher times!)

• Post run breakfast buffet at Brewers Fork

• Post run complimentary beverage (Beer or Aperol Spritz)

• Complimentary MYSTRYDE class

• 25% off your registration will be donated to the Boston Greater Food Bank

CANCELLATION POLICY: Race capacity is LIMITED to 125 participants with a waitlist of 25. If you are unable to attend, please remove yourself from the race on the MYSTRYDE app so that we can allow someone off the waitlist to attend. Full refund if you cancel by November 18th. If you are no longer able to make it after 11/18, please cancel yourself, however we are unable to honor refunds after that date.

Charlestown Youth Hockey Auction Night

Support CYHA by donating auction items and/or buying tickets to their Auction Night Fundraiser. The event will take place at 7pm on November 22nd at the Knights of Columbus. Tickets are just $25!

There will be a live and silent auction that includes sports memorabilia from past and present NHL players, NE Patriots players, sports tickets, and more! Also enjoy 50/50 raffle, cash bar, music by Dennis Taylor and DJ Macca,

All proceeds benefit Frankie’s Friends of CYHA. The goal of Frankie’s Friends is to help members of CYHA who are facing financial struggles and to help the program meet its operating costs so it can continue to deliver a successful, community focused hockey program to the youth of the Charlestown neighborhood. To celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the Charlestown Community Fridge, NEW Health aims to fill the fridge every day in November with the help of our neighbors and community partners. The trend will continue every day with a new organization or community member getting tagged! You can also sign up.

The Kennedy Center of Charlestown’s Toy Drive registration opens on Monday! Charlestown families, get ready for a season of joy! Starting November 1st, you can sign up ONLINE for their Annual Toy Drive and secure special holiday gifts for your family.
