Tails Are Wagging: Crate Escape’s Summer Events Are Here!

If you’ve got a four-legged best friend in the Boston area, put these dates on your calendar — Crate Escape is bringing the fun this June with not one, but two can’t-miss community events.

🍹 Summer Sip & Splash — June 2nd

Kick off the season on Monday, June 2nd from 5:30–7:30 PM at The Anchor in Charlestown’s historic Navy Yard (1 Shipyard Park). The concept is simple and brilliant: you sip, your pup splashes. While your dog snacks, plays, and soaks up the summer vibes, you get to actually relax with a drink in hand. As the flyer puts it — “Splashes & Snacks for them, Sips for you, Summer fun for all!” Consider it a happy hour upgrade.

🍦 Pup-Cream Social — June 12th

Ten days later, on Thursday, June 12th from 5:00–6:30 PM, the party moves to the lawn behind Harborview at the Navy Yard (250 1st Ave, Charlestown) for a Pup-Cream Social. Ice cream for humans is provided by MGH Police & Security, beverages by Harborview at the Navy Yard, and — naturally — dog ice cream by Crate Escape.

🐾 About Crate Escape

These events are a natural extension of who Crate Escape is. The company’s story began in 2002 when Bradley and Stephanie Hastings fell head over heels for a spunky Jack Russell Terrier named Ernestine — and hated the idea of going to work every day and leaving her behind. That love launched a small business that has grown into one of Boston’s most beloved dog care businesses: Crate Escape

The Charlestown location opened in January 2013, with a large open space, natural light, five play areas, and even outdoor space — nestled right next to the Charlestown Navy Yard, literally under the Tobin Bridge. In 2016 they added Suite Escape, a luxury dog hotel offering glass suites and walks in the Naval Yard. They’ve since expanded further, and the accolades have followed: Crate Escape was named Boston Magazine’s Best of Boston® 2025 — Best Doggie Daycare.

Dogs at Crate Escape enjoy playtime in pens with compatible canines, supervised using positive redirectional techniques, with one attendant for every 15 dogs. Whether it’s daycare, boarding, grooming, or a good old-fashioned summer splash party, Crate Escape has built its reputation on one simple belief: tired dogs are happy dogs — and happy dogs make for happy owners.

See you at the Navy Yard! 🐶☀️
