MBTA Announces Contactless Payments Starting August 1st

How convenient!
Starting August 1, the MBTA will officially roll out contactless payment at all of its fare gates, buses, and Green Line and Mattapan Trolley trains.
Now you’ll be able to pay by tapping your contactless debit/credit card, phone, or watch with a mobile wallet on new Charlie Card reader boxes and will accept tappable credit and debit cards, plus Apple/Samsung/Google Pay on your phone or watch of choice. Well, that’s easy peasy!
Also, CharlieCards and cash will still be accepted as payment per usual.
You can get all the details here!
Finally some positive MBTA news!
