Free Link Bus Service Coming to Charlestown

Good news for Charlestown residents! The City of Boston is introducing a new free transportation program called the Link Bus, designed to make getting around the neighborhood a little easier.
The program will provide free shuttle service connecting residents to MBTA stops, jobs, schools, healthcare appointments, and local businesses.
Charlestown’s Lower Mystic route is one of five areas included in the program, along with Roxbury, Mattapan, Seaport, and Allston-Brighton.
The program is supported by approximately $11.5 million in federal funding through the Federal Highway Administration’s Congestion Relief Program.
More details about routes, schedules, and when service will begin are expected to be announced. This program is expected to launch in early 2027. You can read more about this here.
