17-year-old Shooting Suspect Arrested for Shooting in Charlestown

At about 5:40 PM on Thursday, May 21, 206, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male of Dorchester on a felony warrant out of Suffolk County Juvenile Court on charges of Assault and Battery by means of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Dwelling, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Vandalizing Property. The suspect was taken into custody in the area of Ocean Street in Dorchester.

The facts and circumstances of the initial incident are as follows:

At about 2:25 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of Bunker Hill Street and Walford Way in Charlestown.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victims who stated an unknown black male had fired several gunshots into the building at 76 Monument Street in Charlestown. Officers recovered a total of twelve spent shell casings inside of the building as well as the surrounding area.
