Weekend Picks – January 2nd

Happy 2025, Charlestown! Here are our top picks for this first weekend of the year:
Eat and Drink in an Igloo
Grab a group of friends and head to The Anchor for an igloo experience! Whether you want to bask in the sun during the day or enjoy Boston’s skyline at night, you don’t want to miss this winter activity. There is a food and beverage minimum, so come hungry and thirsty! Make a reservation here!
Warm Up at Waverly
Waverly Kitchen & Bar was voted one of Boston Common Magazine’s top cozy restaurants with a fireplace, and we have to agree. The restaurant’s aesthetic makes for the perfect spot for dinner with friends, a romantic time with your partner, or brunch with the family. Their menu also offers delectable seasonal dishes and drinks; just don’t forget to save room for dessert because it’s all incredible!
Dry January?
If you’re embarking on a month, or more, without alcohol, you have to check out these delicious mocktails from our favorite Charlestown spots. Waverly makes two awesome mocktails and also has Guinness ‘Zero’, an alcohol-free stout. Dovetail makes their own lemonade and it is a must-have. Order their Pomegranate Spritz for a yummy mocktail!
- Waverly’s Good Bunny: carrot ginger juice, lemon, agave
- Waverly’s Bunker Hill Breeze: blood orange juice, lemon, soda
- Dovetail’s Pomegranate Spritz: house-made lemonade, sparkling pomegranate, soda water
Sweat it out at MYSTRYDE
Sweat out the Holidays at MYSTRYDE with a Stryde + Core class! 30 minutes of interval training on the treadmill, followed by 15 minutes of strength training. Strength training alternates between core, upper body or legs + glutes, depending on the day. Takes place Saturday, at 8:30am. Book your spot here!
Comfort Food at Warren Tavern
Nothing beats a bowl of comfort on a cold weekend! Warren Tavern’s Guinness Beef Stew — slow-cooked beef, rich Guinness gravy, hearty vegetables, a scoop of creamy mash, with rolls & butter on the side! Pure winter warmth. Stop by this weekend!
Family Friendly Fun at USS Constitution Museum
And, it’s officially School Vacation Week, and the museum has plenty of family-friendly activities all weekend to keep your kiddos busy! Check out the schedule here!
Check out Chattermark Distillers
Here’s your sign to go over and check out the newly renovated Chattermark Distillers, Charlestown’s very own, local distillery. Their taproom hours this weekend are as follows:

Saturday: 3-11pm

Plus, you get to enjoy delicious food that leaves you craving more…and quickly booking another reservation for weeks later. Whether you’re a pancake fanatic, breakfast sandwich connoisseur, or simply adore all things breakfast, we promise you that Charlestown is the place to visit for brunch.
