One Year Later, Charlestown Is Still Searching for Answers in Anchor Boston Vandalism Case

Do you recognize this guy?

It’s been a year since a vandal smashed through the doors of The Anchor Boston. According to CBS News, the culprit — caught on video last December — ripped out lighting, electrical wiring, Wi-Fi, and more, causing roughly $100,000 in damage.

The mess shut down The Anchor for months, just days before they were gearing up to host its holiday installation. What should have been a festive kickoff for 2024 turned into a scramble to cancel events.

Community organizers and police are still hoping someone will step forward. As of this week, the suspect remains unidentified and at large.

This holiday season, The Anchor Boston says it’s “coming back bigger and brighter” — with a tree-lighting event set for December 11 at 6 p.m.

Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact District A-1/A-15 Detectives at (617) 343-4571.
