New Liquor Licenses Could Be Coming to the Neighborhood!

Wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy a glass of wine or a nice cold beer with your meal at a local restaurant?
With the Boston City Council behind it, a new bill could introduce over 250 new liquor licenses over the next five years to neighborhoods that need them like Roxbury, Roslindale, Mattapan, and East Boston (yay).
Supporters of the bill believe it would help bring opportunity to potential small business owners in largely Black/Latino communities!
According to the Boston Globe, liquor licenses can go for as much as $600,000 and normally are in wealthier more touristy parts of the city….think Southie and the Seaport District!
